There have been Men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. on Miami University's campus dating back to 1952 when a young man tried to charter a chapter but was unsuccessful. Since then, several men who came to Miami soon after tried the same, being pledges of the Beta Eta Chapter at University of Cincinnati. It wasn't until decades later that the Kappa Delta was chartered on April 26, 1980 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The founding line was called The New Breed and consisted of six brothers: Big Brother Bruce Edelen, Big Brother Ernie Andrews, Big Brother Reginald Gooden, Big Brother Russell Betts, Big Brother Bruce Jackson, and Big Brother Rollin Seward. Since the chartering of the KD chapter, there have been over 70 brothers that have been initiated and have been prepared to be successful men in life after college.
