St. Jude Partnership
W
ith more than 650 alumni and collegiate chapters in the United States and across the world, Kappa Alpha Psi is recognized as a major contributer to the advancement of the African American community.
I
n July of 2005, Kappa Alpha Psi further demonstrated its commitment to community by partnering with the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the 76th Grand Chapter in St. Louis.

S
ince then, the Fraternity has had a number of golf tournaments on behalf of the hospital, and last year presented a check to St. Jude for more than $100,000.

Sunday of Hope

The Sunday of Hope program was developed by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as a way for members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to support St. Jude. Sunday of Hope allows churches across the country to unite as a body of believers to help children suffering from cancer, sickle cell and other catastrophic diseases.
Sunday of Hope is vital to continuing the lifesaving work taking place at St. Jude. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. St. Jude also provides transportation costs and local living expenses during treatment for the patient and one parent, and assists with meal costs while the family is in Memphis. With operating costs at $1.5 million a day, the children and families of St. Jude need your help.

Guide Right Program
National Service Initiative

T
he basic concepts of Guide Right may be summarized as follows:
  1. To help youth, especially those of high school age, in the selection of courses leading to vocations compatible with their aptitudes, interests, and personalities.
  2. To assist students, while they are in training, to get started in employment, and to progress successfully in their chosen fields.
  3. To assist parents in the handling of their children by giving them opportunities to talk over their problems with those who know and are successful in their chosen vocations.
  4. To afford the less fortunate youths a respite from the drudgery of the streets, through sponsored entertainment and cultural enrichment.
  5. To inform youth of the values of higher education, of assistance available for continued educational pursuits, scholarships, loans, professional counseling, fellowships, etc.; of various occupational and professional opportunities; and of current lab or demands and the trends on the labor market, supply rewards, etc.
Kappa Alpha Psi's commitment to young people is well established, and our Guide Right efforts, both individual and collective, can continue to serve as a mechanism to "inspire service in the public interest."
